THE OFFERING

I cannot see this image without looking through my "bird-soul" lens that I have adopted...

  1. This image is sad and the emotions are neglect and curiosity. The young boy is deeply upset at the birds death and offers the dead body to the young girl. She shows a curiosity and interest to touch the dead body, as though she is unsure yet curious to take the creature. The meaning behind this piece is the offering up of the ones griefs will provide opportunities but it is our choice whether or not to take it.

  2. I think this image comments on the intriguing nature of children. The choices between right and wrong. The girl seems to desperately want to touch this bird, this could be a symbol for the hardship of adolescence she will face in the future. You need to take all the advice you can get from people. The boy gives me the impression that he is trying to teach her about maybe death... The way he holds it away from himself as if not wanting apart but feeling obligated to show responsibility.

  3. To me this image is like these two kids a acting shifty. They look like they have just accidently killed this bird and the boy doesn't know how to handle it. The boys had pointing away holding the bird gives me that feeling that he is avoiding the responsibilty of looking after the bird. He is just passing it off to his sister who is hesitant but feels oblidge to look after the bird.
